I AM AN ARTIST

I am an artist. When people ask me how much experience I have. I say 49 years. I have always been an artist. My experience and qualifications come through my life. Every time I tackle a new project it is a totally new experience for me.

My inspiration comes from my wide-eyed fascination of the world as I see it.

I live in the world I am creating. For instance when I was commissioned to create a lunar landscape for the BBC’s "Real Rooms" I became familiar with every aspect of what I painted. I knew the elements that made up the planets and the colours corresponded to them. The moon surface was painted in such a way that it invited you to step onto it.

Whilst I am painting my imagination is also in that space. I create environments that people want to live in and I make sure that the creation makes me want to live there too.

The wall that I work on takes on its own energy therefore transforming the room that its in.

I gain something from every piece of work that I do and leave something of myself behind when I finally say goodbye. I then place my signature on a now familiar friend, the finished piece of art.
